The ASDA (Development Association of Western Athens) was founded in 1989. The Municipalities of Agia Varvara, Agios Anargyron-Kamaterou, Aigaleo, Ilio, Korydallos, Peristeri, Petroupoli, Chaidari and Fili participate in it.
Its creation looks forward to claiming and securing national and European resources for the coordinated treatment of inequalities and the increased social, environmental and economic problems of Western Athens.
