European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is one of the key financial instruments of the EU's cohesion policy. Its purpose is to contribute to reducing the differences between the levels of development of different regions in Europe and to improving the standard of living in the most disadvantaged regions. Particular attention is paid to areas affected by severe and permanent natural or demographic handicaps, such as the hyper-northern regions, which are particularly sparsely populated, and island, cross-border and mountainous regions.
Partnership Agreement (PA) 2014-2020
The PA (Partnership Agreement for the Development Framework) 2014-2020 constitutes the main strategic plan for growth in Greece with the contribution of significant resources originating from the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) of the European Union.
The PA, through its implementation, seeks to tackle the structural weaknesses in Greece that contributed to the economic crisis, as well as other economic and social problems caused by it. Moreover, the PA 2014-2020 is called upon to help attain the national targets within the Europe 2020 Strategy. The target of the Europe 2020 Strategy is to foster growth that is:
- smart, with more efficient investments in education, research and innovation;
- sustainable, because of the decisive shift to a low carbon economy, and
- inclusive, focusing especially on job creation and poverty reduction.
Regional Program "Attica"
It is a given that the support of the Region of Attica through the European Structural and Investment Funds, has always been a very important development tool for the businesses and citizens of our Region. NSRF resources are always directed to support the weak and vulnerable population groups, with the aim of reducing inequalities, but also to strengthen those development branches and priorities that can lead a Region to sustainable, smart and fair development.
Integrated Spatial Investments (OXE)
Integrated Spatial Investments (OXE) are included among the new ones
financial tools of the Integrated Spatial Development policy, which is based on the local-centric approach adopted by the new Cohesion Policy 2014-2020.
Integrated Spatial Development is one of the EU's main policy tools for the 2014-2020 programming period, outlining the strategic directions for territorial development, promoting and integrating the territorial dimension at all levels of governance in the EU and ensuring that the Europe 2020 strategy will be implemented according to the principles of territorial cohesion.
